DON’T LET ANYONE STEAL YOUR YOUR MODELING DREAM

I’ve written and talked extensively about using the power of
your true purpose or dream to help you achieve the modeling
career you really want.

But despite its incredible power, your true dream can be
easily damaged. It’s especially vulnerable to negative
outside influences. In fact, if you’re not careful your
dream of becoming a model can be stolen right out from under
your feet.

I’m talking about the danger of negative thoughts, either
your own self doubts or doubts expressed by people you know,
often those closest to you.

The fact is, modeling is your special dream–no one else’s.
You are the one who must nourish it, protect it, and see
that it arrives safely intact at its final destination,
which is a successful modeling career that you enjoyed along
the way.

If you want to protect and nourish it, you need to be very
selective about who you give a ‘backstage pass’ to. Don’t
let just anyone and everyone have access to your dream. You
want to reserve that only for people who are going to
support you and believe in you.

Mark Twain once said, “Keep away from people who try to
belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but
the really great make you feel that you, too, can become
great.”

Well, I am telling you that you can become great. And you
will be when you find your dream and follow it. You have to
know that it won’t always be easy and some people won’t be
there for you when you need them. Life is like that, but
that’s alright, as long as you can count on yourself.

So when someone tries to put down your dream of becoming a
model, say to them, either aloud or in your own
mind, “Maybe you think that you can’t do it, but that
doesn’t mean I can’t.”

I love what Cynthia Kersey, author of the book
“Unstoppable”, has to say about that. She wrote: “The only
opinion about your dream that counts is yours. The negative
comments of others merely reflect their limitations – not
yours.”

Your job is simple really. You must be serious about
nourishing and protecting your dream, and you must banish
doubt and negative thinking from your mind.

The fact is there are tens of thousands of would-be models,
sitting at home dreaming about finding success. But how
many of them believe enough in their dream and in themselves
to actually go out and do something about it?

If you are one who does, success is nearly inevitable for you.

I will add just one qualifier–oftentimes on the path of our dreams
we find unexpected twists and turns, which sometimes bring us to a
destination other than the one we planned. But it is my experience
and my belief that as long as we are moving forward with our
goal clearly in mind, always doing the best we know how at
that time, we will arrive to a place that is good.

It may not be our original destination, but it will definitely be
much better than if we had never tried. And most importantly, we
will be much better than if we had never tried.

Keep those thoughts clear in your mind and the rest will
take care of itself.
