Let me tell you something.

Modeling is a pretty interesting career. If it’s what you really, really want to do in your heart of hearts, you’re going to feel like the luckiest girl (or guy) in the world when you get that first good job. Or when you wake up one morning and know for certain that you really are a model. And you won’t even realize how hard you worked to get to that point.

But if modeling is just a passing thought, or something you think sounds good but you know deep inside isn’t really you, you’re asking for trouble.

That’s because to succeed at a high level in this business takes hard work. If your heart isn’t in it, you’re going to feel every minute of that hard work. Every rejection at a casting. Every time your results from a photo shoot are less than spectacular or a booker asks you to lose another inch off your hips. It might even make you start questioning your own self worth, or why on earth you ever thought you could be a model in the first place.

Not only is that bad for you, it’s no fun either.

It’s the Universe’s way of telling you you made a wrong turn.

You’ll know you made the right turn if modeling excites you and makes you want to get out of bed every day to try and succeed even more than the day before–regardless of the obstacles you’ve come up against. And if you know there’s nothing else you’d rather be doing.

So if that last part sounds like you, here’s what I want to tell you.

I’ve been where you are just starting out, and I’ve worked as a high fashion model at a very high level with some of the biggest names in the fashion world. And I continue to work every day as a scout, searching the world over for great new models. So I know this business very well. I know what’s it like to be on the outside looking in. I also know how enjoyable it can be on the inside once you figure out how it all works.

I want you to really enjoy it too. And I have a lot of good insight I want to share with you to help you do exactly that.

So if modeling is what you really want to do at this point in your life, humor me and grant me this one simple favor–make this site a regular part of your life. Follow me in my blog as I scout for models. See what it is I like and don’t like in the models I meet and write about.

And trust me when I tell you that virtually all the scouts, agents and bookers I know around the world look for the same kinds of qualities I do in a model. So what you learn here will really help you a lot later on.
